Returning Home; Driving My Civic After Two MonthsI was out of town for almost two months as I embarked on bicycling across America from San Diego, California to Jekyll Island, Georgia. It has been such a snowy winter that I have concluded in the short-term that it is fruitless to wash my car. It has been snowing regularly with snow and ice covering many of the roads, which will turn to messy slush whenever it actually warms up. I drove my car to a quiet and fairly isolated stretch of road for the sole purpose of testing out and learning how to use the panic button. It is a fairly simple gadget, but realistically, I'm not sure how often I'll need to use it living in a rural area of central Colorado. You can read more here ... Well, the old days of putting a small sticker on the inside of your windshield as a reminder of when your car is due for an oil change are over. To my surprise, the new 2008 Honda Civic has a system inside the car that tracks the "oil life" and notifies the driver when it becomes due for an oil change. You can read more here ... During my drive across much of the country, the windshield received its first "ding" from a flying pebble on I-435 in the Kansas City, Missouri area. Waaaaah! I was driving on a highway in Wisconsin when I spotted what appears to be the exact vehicle of mine - a Honda Civic Coupe in Galaxy Gray Metallic. I can not verify whether it was a 2007 or 2008 model, but it is close enough.
