The Honda Civic At 14,110 Feet Above Sea Level
November 4, 2007 - I visited friends in Colorado Springs on Friday and Saturday and on a sunny Saturday afternoon, my friend Scott and I took my new Civic up to the summit of Pikes Peak. The Pikes Peak Highway is a well-maintained toll road that travels 19 miles and over one mile up in the sky to reach the top of Pikes Peak, where the altitude is 14,110 feet. I kind of thought it would be noteworthy to photograph my Honda at such a high altitude! To help give you a better perspective of how tall this mountain is, here is a link to a view of the mountain from Manitou Springs that I took just a few hours earlier: Pikes Peak.
There's a photo of Scott with a grand view of mountains and scenery below him. You can see all of my photos of our visit here: Pikes Peak Highway.
One photo of me next to the official sign at the top. I really wanted to include the Civic in the photo, but this specific area was for pedestrians only. -Steve
